Performance and Reliability

The applicator arm uses SmartArm Technology to print and apply labels to a variety of cartons or products. With SmartArm Technology, the applicator arm automatically compensates for random application surface heights. The height can vary from 1/8" (3mm) to 32" (81 cm). When making a decision regarding the label placement, the surface profile, in the event it is inclined, pyramidal, curved, or irregularly shaped, is taken into consideration.

FAST, VARIABLE, CONVEYOR SPEEDS

Using an encoder to monitor the motion of the conveyor, the Acclaim400 is able to print and apply a label, "on the fly," to products or cartons moving at conveyor speeds up to 400 feet (122 meters) per minute. Should the conveyor change speeds, the applicator automatically adjusts to compensate for the new speed.

MORE THAN A PRINTER APPLICATOR

A unique feature of the Acclaim400 is the ability to perform critical tasks that extend beyond the functionality of a typical printer applicator. The Acclaim400 acts as a traffic controller-monitoring package profile, variable input information, label formatting data, conveyor line speeds, label validation scanning and host computer communications. Using PacTrac™ technology, the Acclaim400 monitors the location of cartons on the conveyor and determines if cartons have been removed or added to the line. This feature prevents costly mislabeling errors, further enhancing the value of the Acclaim400 labeling operation.

DURABLE AND RELIABLE

The Acclaim400 is designed for high-duty cycles. Carefully selected components, thorough pre-shipment testing, on-going failure mode analysis and rugged design combine to make the Acclaim400 very reliable. During research and development, identified flaws were redesigned to ensure the utmost reliability.

SYSTEM MONITORING

The operation of the Acclaim400 can be monitored eternally via a personal computer (PC) or mainframe. Operation status prompts, shown via the liquid crystal display on the control panel alert an operator to various conditions of the labeling system.
